Check the ground wire connection at the tank and where it's fastened to the 
body. Probably corroded. Remove the positive lead off the post at the tank 
and clean the corrosion.
Hope that works....

Brakes are mostly likely the master cylinder.

Having a couple issues with my Pacer wagon. The fuel gauge works sometimes 
but not all. It seems to stop working going around a corner or hitting a 
lrge bump too hard? I have checked the wires at the tank and none seem lose.

My brake issue started out slow. I would hit the brake and it would stop, 
but then go to the floor, but pump right up and be fine for a month. No 
fluid lose that I could see. Now that the weather is warm iit is happening 
everyday, but as before! It pumps right back up but is happening more 
frequently. I am gonna put a new MC on it tomorrow, the car has been sitting 
since 1989 until I p;ut it on the road last year with just a quick brake 
exam, whioch they actually needed nothing at that time.

Any ideas on these issues would be greatly appreciatd.
