Jeep used Buick nailhead TH400 auto with the V8s since '66 when the Super Wagoneer came with 327 (I still go to call it Nash) and later with Buick motors, then also with AMC 360s '70 up. The '70 had a flexplate different than later ones. (I spent a lot of time trying to find one, then gave up and just swapped the teeth)
   The early one had 3 bolt balancer and later was 4 bolt. I had fun putting a GM Alt on it!

it was used by amc from the early '60s up to '71, and by amgeneral
[postal jeeps] '72-6?, with sixes and 2bbl 287, 290 and 304 v8s. jeep
didn't come on board with amc drivetrains until '72, when amc shifted
to torqueflites. there are changes over the years so i'm not sure what
the scope is.
