Fantastically well said Mark,
you are one of the lucky ones, I needed to actually be lucky and survive a
crash before it
became 100% habit for me to wear my belt. Racing also teaches that you have
no control
of your car if you are flying around inside (or outside) of it.
I truly believe in fines for people who refuse to "belt up". All of us
pay higher insurance premiums partly because some choose to ignore the
safety standards in place.

AMC content I belt up so my premiums are less, therefore I have more money
to spend on my AMC !
