In Idaho if you have a drivers license you are required to have 
liability insurance even if you but do not own a car......
but do not have to show it to get your tags renewed.....you
do need to show proof of insurance if stopped....no proof $150
fine.....car tags/license plates belong to the owner not
the car/truck.
