Changing the diff from a 2.87 open to a 2.72 twin grip. All new bearings and
seals to contain fluid better. General clean up and make look pretty again
like new.

Got the rear axle out completely, forgot to loosen the big nut on the input
yoke, thought about it for a little while, removed the back cover, took a 16
penny nail (much softer than gears in axle) and placed it between the ring
gear and pinion, rotated things until they locked up then got the nut loose.

Didn't want to pry on the yoke to get it off, so I loosened up the u bolts
and slid a 3/4 IPS black pipe nipple across the yoke and finger tightened
the u bolts. Then I took an appropriately sixed cold chisel and wedged it in
between. A couple of light raps with a hammer and the yoke was loose.

Now If I could just get that trick with the brake drum on backwards and a
few lug nuts holding it on then use the drum like a slide hammer to get the
hubs off, just can't get it to work, I have a friend bringing over a hub
puller tomorrow, we'll get it then.

Broke those bolts that bolt the back leaf spring shackles to the body, I see
the only way to get them replaced is buy a new set of shackles or use
something else for bolts instead of the spline dbolts that the factory used.

All in all it wa sanother good day of AMC'n.
