Ours did not get them in till around 70 the owner loved his commando and had it welded, re welded and welded it again till it proved impossible to keep safe. At which point he surrendered and sent it off to the great smelter in the sky.

could have been.....the AMC dealer in my home town also sold Jeeps and 
International Scouts and Trucks.....
