[AMC-list] Rambler Mentality bandsaw

At the AMCRC meet last Saturday, in addition to a handful of AMC
vendors and hobbiests, some guys had some yard crap mixed in, and lo!
a $20 bandsaw. I bought it on the spot. It looked rough, but it was
mostly dirty, the wheels were fine, the table pretty good but rusty.
Blade had a kink. No motor. No brand on it but I think it's a
Craftsman. Somehow managed to get it in the trunk of the American,
with the 215/60-R15 spare, battery, and miscellany.

Tonight I cleaned it up and mounted it on a 2 x 10 x 26 slab along
with a 3/4hp (!) sweet motor, cord and controller I've had for a
while. I had an old rambler fanbelt, that fit fine. Bearings in the
upper wheel were shot (VERY LOUD!), popped those out, common as dirt.
Cleaned and oiled. Ordered bearings and one Starrett saw blade from
MSCdirect.com just now. That's another $30. So I'll have a decent
bandsaw for metal now.
