As long as both are trunnion cars the springs should be fine if not too much shorter. 70+ ball joint cars mount the springs a little further inboard than the trunnion cars (springs directly on top of trunnion) and have a much higher spring rate accordingly. Just a few inches makes a big difference in leverage! 70+ ball joinmt springs would be way too stiff for a trunnion car.

Looking at a collection of front springs once, I noticed the Javelin and Americans springs were the same diameter, but the Jav spring was shorter (by a lot) sitting on the shop floor. So I saved them with the intention of putting them to good use one day.
Would the Jav springs fit in an American? I have made adaptor plates to run V8 Hornet shocks and when I return to my 64 wagon, I have 360 Concord issue right now to fix, I'll swap the springs. Anything to look forward to on the springs?......Russ
