Re: [AMC-list] caspers motor may be ok, but

ok, so i got a video tonight driving casper. you can kinda hear the knocking.
maybe im a pessimist. i try to say im a "realist" but im sure its that same
rod that i lost the bearing. im pretty sure that bearing had been going bad
for a while, couldnt hear it, till it was GONE, and the rod got egg shaped,
and now it is probably beating the new bearing to crap. i guess when i have
time (not much of here lately) i will have to pull the cross member off
again, drop the oil pan, and have a look at it. only takes about an hour or
so to get that rod off. i DONT want to pull that head again, because i dont
think i have another head gasket on the shelf. i guess i need to order 2
more.
and as a side note, its not leaking oil along the lifter side of the head
where they always seep. sprayed on i THINK 2 coats of that permatex copper
head gasket spray junk. seemed to work. neither one of my 2 running 196's
seep oil on that side of the head. i dont know what you all are cryin about
how they always seep. (ok, so im being sarcastic about how lucky i am,
because they always have, and FINALLY i have 2 runners that dont LOL)
