There's a guy on the AMC Forum with one in a late Javelin. It's tight in that, and it's slightly wider than an American. The 4.7L V-8 should be slightly narrower and should be a better fit. Besides, it at least has some AMC influence, and is at least rumored to have come from the AMC/Jeep design department before Chrysler bought AMC. Definitely has their touch on it. You can get some big car 287 badges for the fender too!

Has anyone put a, or know of, modern 5.7 Hemi (or the 6.1 for that matter) in a 64-69 American?  Just curious, but looks like the way to go if you just got to have a modern setup and don't want to do the Cheby thing...
