As far as someone using the Caddy/Olds setup ... the wildest one I saw was years ago in Hotrod or a similar magazine.  Someone took I think about an 70 Olds or Chevy hardtop and put TWO 455 FWD setups in the car.  It looked completely stock from the outside, but had 910+ cubes, engines front and rear, and all-wheel steering.
