Many of the GM ECMs will do fan control. I didn't know they did PCM variable
speed though! That's been a sort of fantasy idea for a while... it's not
hard, I actually have a whole design done and code written for a $29 Arduino
microcontroller to do precisely that, and use the AMC factory coolant
sensor).

Though I'm not faculty, I have faculty-like powers... if any of our grad
students were car nuts I'd get one of them to finish it as a project!
