Re: [AMC-list] calponycar adapter to replace the T-96 with T-5...

I don't know who makes the adapters, I think Modern Driveline, but several Ford Mustang/Falcon vendors carry them. Here's a link to a pic -- it will bolt to the bell using the factory mounting holes.

There's some other T-5 info, like an ID article, on the site also.
On the Modern Driveline site it's the third one down.

This thread might be of some interest -- and indicates that Modern Driveline was the first to have an adapter. The others may make their own since it's not much more than a flat chunk of aluminum milled to the correct thickness with the correct holes drilled. Okay, it's nothing you would want to do at home with a drill press, but anyone with a vertical mill and precision measuring instruments (any decent machinist) could whittle one out in a couple hours tops. A CNC mill would spit one out every 20 minutes or so -- after that initial 2-3 hour set-up. Tom could probably make one on his mill as long as he could locate the centers accurately. The centerline of the crank and trans input shaft can be no more than 0.005" off or there will be clutch problems -- as in ripping the center hub out. Yeah, I found out the hard way...

I called 'em up trying to work out which of their Ford adapters is closest
to one I could fit to the AMC six bell. Their new website has less info on
the adapters than the old one did.
