i thought he said 290...  290-2bbl would be m40; 290-4bbl, m11 ['68

a few sources [incl. wikipedia] all id the dj5 trannies as m35 '70-4
and m11 '73-4, with a 232.  from '75 they're all tf904 with various
engines.

except -- i've heard that amgeneral continued small-bell production
into the '70s after amc/jeep switched.  dunno if it's true.  jim -
