There's adapters too for the carb.
When I fit an 80's intake to my '70 head, I had to nip the outer-most
mounting ears to make it fit. Scroll down a bit here.

Nothing serious though, and easy to fix. You probably won't even have this
problem, but its the worst I ever saw for a fitment problem with these
mani's. Pretty damn interchangeable!

The EGR valve will plug the hole just fine. I've made block-off plates,
tapped the pintle hole for a plug, etc. (On the '63 I plan on plumbing up
the EGR correctly -- when tuned right there's no down side performance or
mileage).
