[AMC-list] It Looks LIke Water

Good news and bad news.

I cleaned up and installed the passenger side front seat on the Rambler tonight and looked under the car for evidence of the drip two nights ago. There was no obvious evidence of an oil leak on the garage floor although there's tranny fluid there from my overfilling the tranny with fluid and I have not cycled the transmission through drive and reverse yet. So the fluid level is still artificially high, if you understand what I mean. There's no emergency brake cable in the car right now so I was afraid to take it out of park while it's running.

Anyway, found a small drop of oil on the oil drain plug. I think it weeps. But I checked the passenger side of the engine and there's evidence of rusty water trails on the side of the block (no antifreeze in the radiator yet, just plain water). It's leaking either from the heater hose connection high on the passenger side and running along the head seam and dripping off the back of the block OR it's coming from the head gasket on that side. I'll torque the head tomorrow night and start it again to try to confirm it. Hope it's not the head gasket. Don't borrow trouble Joe.
