mine was vin# 172 and the show car [from nj] was also a low-ish
number, in the 260s iirc, so maybe they didn't figure out they should
be loaded until later.  he'd added a lot of ambo stuff in restoring
it, but it was much like mine initially.

btw the nj fellow said he stripped but couldn't save '67 marlin vin
2551...  he did take the vin plate.  it was a loaded car made in july
'67 and had a '68 mirror.

we all know there were only 2545 made, but wasn't the first one tagged
vin# 10?  i vaguely recall a fight over who had the real #10, as one
of the pre-production cars was also tagged #10.
