I'm really happy with the factory floor shifter for the t-96 OD. It's super
short through with a crazy narrow gate. Action is tight and precise,
surprising for a 46 year old consumer product! I had it fully apart to clean
and lube, but there wasn't much wear, mostly on the travel limiting top
plate, made from a ahrd plastic with less wear than you'd think (and which
you can easily abricate and replace from the top).

Rods go high over the trans levers and a cable for the OD. Might be somewhat
hard to find, but it is a nice separate module.

B&M makes nice fat cables with clevis ends for their Megashifter (etc)
shifters in various lengths, but the OD cable could be a hacked up heater
(solid wire) cable, it's not too complex.
