If you know of a commercial metal building contractor, ask him to see some of the adhesive rope type caulks that are used for metal buildings. Some of them even come in colors other than black. On the 71 Javelin there are three sections that are clamped together. The factory used some kind of plumbers putty and cloth tape to seal out water. Of course that dries out and you get trunk leaks. I've played around with various tapes and silicones, but nothing really sticks to it except for some asphalt based material that is used in roofing. I'm looking to duplicate the original look, too. > > Steve > -------------- next part -------------- > An HTML attachment was scrubbed... > URL: <http://list.amc-list.com/pipermail/amc-list-amc-list.com/attachments/200905 08/fde2f126/attachment.htm> > _______________________________________________ > AMC-list mailing list > AMC-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx > http://list.amc-list.com/listinfo.cgi/amc-list-amc-list.com > > > > -- > Internal Virus Database is out-of-date. > Checked by AVG. > Version: 7.5.557 / Virus Database: 270.12.11/2089 - Release Date: 4/30/09 5:53 PM > > _______________________________________________ AMC-list mailing list AMC-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://list.amc-list.com/listinfo.cgi/amc-list-amc-list.com
