I have insomnia - my Cats view it as Quality Time ! With Heat Guns - I set the blower on Low & drift it across my hand at varying distances to see at what distance the heat build up starts and how concentrated it is using what Nozzle diffuser. Sounds stupid - I start the first pass at like two feet away to get a sense - as to how much heat is there and how long until I begin to cook - it works out to be about the same as plastic or vinyl. The other variable is - DO NOT RUSH - just input a short heating time - then apply the plywood pressure gently - then check it - do it again same distance - pressure - check it > Many repeats at Lo Heat Inputs will make the Trip happen. I would sense being too out of touch using a Heat Blanket as I can't judge the foam core heat build up and the effect on the plastic as it is heating up - like War page. I'm presuming this Dash Pad is like on my GTO - skinned vinyl over a foam core ? It doesn't take much to activate the vinyl molecules to soften - so reshape using MANY small Lo heat intervals - pressure applications & it will slowly assume the right shape. Lo and Slo Baby !
