With the possible exception of stainless steel braided lines (which would be expensive), I would say NO -- don't run a rubber line all the way. Instead, get some brake line the correct diameter (5/16"). Auto parts stores sell brake line in up to 5' lengths. Get a coupler to screw the two together and cut the flare nut off each end. Might need a third short line, but I don't think so. Make sure you get the coupler tight, and check it every few months for a while, then at least yearly.

Would it be ok to run a piece of fuel hose directly from the tank all the
way to the front to the electrical fuel pump?  I would secure the fuel
hose along the way.
