Just turn the ring while gently pulling or prying out. Watch our for trans fluid when it comes out. Is this the large cable adapter or smaller Ford style? The large one is plastic. If you break it let me know. I have large plastic one I can spare. ------Original Message------ From: dan whitehead Sender: amc-list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx To: amc list ReplyTo: AMC, Rambler, Nash, Jeep and family Subject: [AMC-list] Speedometer cable Sent: Jul 22, 2009 4:20 PM I'm finally pulling the 258 and trans from my Spirit. I took off the C-clip and screw from the speedometer cable on the transmission. Does it just pry out now, or my I missing something. I turned the outside ring, but nothing happened, and it doesn't look like theres a nut on the end of the cable. I just don't want to force it.
