wait a minute.... tom, this is in your little 440 that the gen is goin bad in correct?? i didnt even take notice in my 440h how much room there was between the gen and steering box... would an alt be able to even FIT down in there? it isnt much bigger than the gen, but a little. i guess if you need me to, i can take the about 5 min to toss my alt back on the 196 if you decide to go that way, and measure how far out it sticks from the flat part of the block. then we would know if it has clearance or not.
