Re: [Amc-list] OT: Drll Press

Yeah, I know what you mean about Harbor fright electircal.
I only buy realy cheap electric stuff from them!
The drill press actually came from a Chuck Hornier tent sale, same crap...
But it was their "blue light special" I paid like $24.95 for it!
it works well except for the casting being weak, I've had it for quite a while, crude and ugly but nice for punching holes in heavier metal, much easier than a hand drill!
That's why I want to replace it.
The Craftsman seems to be well documented online. Even a guy that appears to be selling repop manuals that look like the right one for the one in question!
I know Vo-tech tools can go either way. Depends a lot on what shop it sat in! It could be way worn out as you suggest. Or, it could have seen little use over many years and be very good. Depends on who taught in the class and what they punched holes in with it!
This one looks realy nice as to the tables aren't all drilled full of holes etc; Just a few dimples showing, so we'll see if I can work out a time to go look at it this weekend. Not buying it sight unseen though!
