I'm on my second 4.7L
No problems with either the 2001 in a Dakota Quadcab and the current one in a 04 Grand Cherokee.
The Grand Cherokee pulls like it has a V8 in it! Oh, wait it does!
Runs smooth as silk.
Gets 16-21mpg depending on where and how it is run!
Tows a 19' SBC powered boat no sweat. Gets in the 13-14 mpg range towing too.
The Grand Cherokeed is Quadratrac too, so it doesn't get cut any slack for being in two wheel drive!

I've often considered the 4.7L to be the ugly stepsister!  When i n reality it is IMHO a very good engine.
Revs like no tomorrow, sets you back in the seat anytime you want!
