Re: [Amc-list] LPG 258 ... how about E85, then?

If Butane is causing problems on higher compression LPG motors, then E85 could be the alternative to switch to ... if its available in your area.

Seeing as how I am just about ready to begin assembly of the 330" stroker 304, I'm going to run it with the NOS 304 head gaskets I just re-acquired and end up with 11.0:1 compression with 52.2cc 1970 304 heads.  I'll be running the cylinder head grooves previously discussed, to see how they perform on pump gas, and with the FISH carburetor, I can run a variety of fuel types and will tune it also, for running on E85.  With the engine up at 11.0:1, I'll be able to gain back some of the efficiency lost by E85, so I might be within 5% of the MPGs of gasoline.

It seems that LPG and E85 are in the same boat ... they require high compression to take advantage of the fuel and engine's capabilities.

Greg Taylor :) <><

I'm planning to write an article on it for the mainstream news. May have to
call in a few favors to get it published though! (The Butane thing is bugging
me, but not as bad as the lack of LPG vehicle facilities on the West Coast now)

Leave it to the penny pinching S.O.B's to F**k up a good thing!
The only things LPG has going for it is high octane and availibility in the
ground.
They have F**k up one of those and the second doesn't do any good without
the infrastructure to allow people to fuel up easility on a regular basis.

Idiots strike again!
