Does it have external linkage? If not, more likely T18 or T18A. If it is, depending on the length of the input shaft, you may be able to use a FSJ bellhousing to bolt in an AMC motor. T170 wasn't used till a few years later (and I thought only with the 300 and SBFs?)

Why slightly OT? 'cause it's Ford 360/390 in a 1975 pickup. ; )
 
Would this be their T-170 toploader?
