Yeah, they did good with the galvanized panels on the outside, clad in plastic. A buddy had one for years. I noticed it was parked after always being on the road, so I asked about it. He said the rust had eaten from the inside out and it was too late to save before they knew it was happening. The front subframes rotted out from the inside. When the went to part it out the following spring the steering box ripped right out of the frame. Note this is not an exclusivity to the newer cars. I parted a 67 American sedan that loooked fairlr decent on the outside, yet it too had the steering box ripped out of the frame. Probably a good idea to look closely at the steering box while working the steering wheel back and forth.
