Re: [Amc-list] weekend of drivin

Had mine out, only managed 125 miles though.
Gas mileage was a little better than 25. Not bad considering all the highway useage was runnning 70+mph on our hills around here. Even the 69 American body has the areodynamics of a brick...
I would have driven it more, but had to run back up and see my dad in the cardiac unit in Pittsburgh and did not want to leave it in the parking garage. They have those spaces that are too narrow for anything wider than a mini cooper... Mine ran flawless, only issue at all is the clutch is starting to not release fully. I installed a stop under the pedal to keep it from going clear to the floor due to the squeal like a pig issue it has when the pedal is on the floor.
I guess I'm going to have to make a slight adjustment.

Dad was finally coming around yesterday, He did good physically from the bypass, but his mind stayed away for a couple of days. He would forget where he was or why and kept repeating things over and over. They said it is normal for an older person after a 4.5hr surgery to not be able to remember things.
Probably for the best, as he was definitly hurting some.

My throatless shear should be waiting at home when I get there.
Now I've got to hope I can set it up so I can work the thing easily. I need to figure out a way to mount it down low enough I don't have to reach up to work the lever. As long as I keep things below shoulder height I can do pretty well. I'm really looking forward to not have to fight a pair of handheld shears thru sheetmetal to get the pieces cut for the Ambassador.
