Well, you could drill a hole in the head.....
Next would be to make a rad hose fitting. simple exhaust tube with a bung in it would do.
I'd think you could drill out and tap the original hole and use a bushing if you need to return to stock, but that is not something I'd do without taking some carefull measurements, which I'm sure you are up to!
If your doing ti to the 232 or 258 you can get a 91 up 4.0L T-stat housing, but the neck tilts rearward slightly.
IIrc correctly the fitting for the temp sender in these actually enters the passage for the heater hoses so it gets flow regradless of the T-stats postion in full flow heating systems, which you probably don't have!

  I bet your thinking, " I should have taken care of this while the head was off"...
