That extra gasket is made for slightly warped manifolds but you have to 
separate the manifolds from each other to get it to seal properly. My 
advice is to separate them, have them checked for warpage and corrected 
as needed, and follow the instructions at 
http://www.mattsoldcars.com/RestoreAmerican/loose_intake.shtml (this was 
put together based off of a TSB). Also, if the studs come out, replace 
them (and the nuts on them), always replace any lock washers, and take 
the time to clean the threads up before you reassemble it.
