As Joe mentioned it is safer to cut the gasket on the inside, but you can cust the outside inner lip off too and get the windshield out.
   Nice thing about going from the inside is you can leave the gasket in plac eon the windshield after emoval and it protects the edges on that fragile old glass. I always keep the gasket in place on any glass I pull.
   Never broken a one that way.
Right now in my shed I have 
2 65-66 Ambo windshields, tinted and shaded 
1 65-66 Ambo tinted and shaded hardtop rear glass, way cool.
1 or 2 64-69 American windshields.
