I have not been following this thread, but I will say
that PPG DP-series epoxy primers hold up quite well
without any paint over them. They are waterproof too.
I use PPG DP90 blackout primer on the hood of my
Gremlin last year and it is holding up well. We don't
get a lot of rain out here but the car has been rained
on and I wash it every couple of weeks. It sits
outside all the time. Hey, ash from the forest fires
hasn't harmed it either.
