Unfortunately, it's not possible to add the OD unit to a non-OD 
transmission; there are substantial parts differences.

However, the good news is 'no one wants those' transmissions, so unlike 
a T-10 or something, when you find one it will be cheap! T-96 
transmissions (yours) with overdrive are not that rare. Just gotta find 
one!

Be warned they're all ancient and likely need rebuilding. But you can 
take the top off an simply turn the shafts and look for broken off teeth 
or other obvious damage. If none, it's probably drivable. Might leak.
