IIRC, There is a guy that was on the list who has a 401 and open driveline in a 62ish.
Surely he can answer all these questions and more.
He had advertised a spare rear axle setup for sale a while back.
Maybe if you ran some searches you could scare up one of the ads and get in contact with him or he will see this.
Perhaps, someone here knows who it is.
