Yeah, it is phosphoric-acid based. I used this stuff to remove the rust
patch on the back of my ram air hood. You know that area that the factory
didn't paint on the underside of the hood. I think I worked about 45 minutes
with the PHIX and some 320 grit wet or dry sandpaper. The rust completely
disappeared and a bright metal suface appeared. After removing all the rust
and all the old paint I sprayed a coat of epoxy primer on it. The hood still
looks fantastic today.
