The points do last forever when hooked to the MSD.
One thing to note is if you go MSD and a more powerful coil you can carry a resistor and if the MSD box fails it's super easy to dissconnect it add the resisitor and run the car home on points.
  The Pertronix is the ignition of choice if you don't want to see anything.
It's all under the stock cap and what I will hoepfully, maybe, someday use on the convertible.
