The serpentine pulley is 3/8" shorter than the Vee belt (same as the 4.0L), so you would need a spacer after you put it on to push the balancer all the way in (hacking off a piece of an old balancer on the lathe works)

So you are saying the balancer on my 83 Eagle 258
(serpentine belt) is too long to fit on the 77 258 in
my Gremlin, right?
