Good catch Ken! They aren't original. The 1960 Super had similar ornaments on top of the fenders, with a round piece on them, sort of like a gun sight. Those are 1959 Super hood ornaments -- probably the entire hood was changed. 

I didn't know this by heart, had to pull the TSMs and take a look!

Question- so those hood ornament spears you mentioned, and were in the pic of the 1960 classic rambler white/red wagon, are those not part of the car, they were just added on from another model or did all the 60's have them?
