Edmund's made 2x1V and I think 2V heads for the Nash L-head, but he most
likely saw a STOCK Nash 2V head. They were only used in the Statesman
w/195.6 L-head for a couple years, I believe only with auto trans (which
would be the big Dual Range Hydramatic). 67+ big cars still have coil
springs, but a four link system. The rear axle is a couple inches wider
than a 63-66 Classic/Ambo, but can be used in it with deeper offset
wheels. The chassis is nearly the same as the 63-66 -- just need to add
pivot points for the lower control arms and mounting points for the
upper control arm cross member (and shorten the CM an inch [or less] on
each side). The 62 rear tread is about the same as the 63-66, with the
chassis rails nearly two inches further apart. You may need deeper
offset wheels, but other than that it looks like the four link 67-78
rear axle would fit fine. It might have plenty clearance with the stock
62 wheels and tires since they are rather narrow and the axle doesn't
move much side to side. I think I'd go for it! If your 62 is a V-8 car
there's another trick -- narrow the 67+ housing to take the 62 axles.
All 65+ big cars have the AMC 20, only V-8 and 232 pre 65 cars have it.
I'm not 100% certain the axle splines are the same, but they should be.
Pull the axles and check before cutting the tubes on the 67+ housing.

Edelbrock or somebody made a two-carb head for that flathead,
my father had one of those little hot rod magazine/booklets with
a story on it... wish I had that book now! (That was close to
40 years ago -- crap am I that old?!)

I know nothing about 67 rebels, isn't it just a leaf spring
rear? Any old AMC could donate the parts for that to put in
the 62.
But that trans is likely a T-14 with R10 overdrive! Tweren't
no T-96 that year, and too early for the T150.
