Thanks for the link Russ! Looks like there are good options for disposing of used oil (I think that's the same everywhere - just bring it to your autoparts store). Checking your link - my local recycling center takes used coolant. Great! Just need to find what to do with stale gas - I'm sure there must be good options. 

Folks - I'm not advocating taking any environmentally unfriendly actions. I simply quoted what I was told after calling my local EPA office (I started at the recycling center, got transferred to EPA and went from there).
