Otherwise give it more of a race car look and just rivet the scoop on top without trying to blend it in. A seam all the way around looks a lot better than a crack! Make a gasket for it and the seam will look even better. Painted to match the car would look good. Hey, get fancy and make a reinforcement around the hole and use Dzus fasteners to hold the scoop on! Then you can take it off for shows...

late thought - the area at the base of the windshield is a high
pressure area.  why not go through the firewall and tap into the cowl
intake invisibly?  unless you want the bling factor...
