I've heard the repros don't have th elarge bottom lip, but I'm not sure.
I bedded my 69's trim in Black Marine grade 3M silicone with no clips.
It does not leak.
I wanted to not fool with the clips due to seeing them scratch and gouge the paint in this impossible to see area and cause rust.
My only fear is that I will never get the trim out and I would like to someday install a nice new windshield!
