A" Now you got me thinking (boy, can that be a bad thing!) about a FWD
Olds or Caddy with the BOP pattern coupled to an AMC 401 with the Jeep BOP adapter
(which of course is different than the Nailhead one I have) Wouldn't that twist 
the knickers of some of the GM crowd?

No. A THM 124 is an extremely light duty front wheel drive transmission 
used by GM is the 80's.
