Re: [Amc-list] Good news--maybe

A: On a similar (or is that sinister?) topic, a buddy of mine (one from AK) just bought himself an IH Travelall with the IH6 (241?) and 4 speed with divorced D20 tcase
The plan is to get a 4.0L into there with O/D or put a Warn O/D into the D20 (the IH 6 is a sloooow revver) Thinking maybe the 5 speed from my dumptruck might even fit,
if the bell is the same? (maybe put the 392 in the TA and put the Jeep/Nash 327/th400/QT into my dumptruck?)

Will check with my local old Jeep guru to see about the early 6 cyl/TH400 connection

no mark, but international used amc sixes '69-'71 with iron warners,
and postal jeeps up to about '75 either them or the aluminum one. and
before the aluminum auto appeared, amc used iron ones behind the 196;
iirc the flexplate and converter housing both fit the '64-'71
199/232/258, with only the dowel pins different.

jag used the iron warner up to '78. also, i'm told the ford fmx is a
straight bolt-in swap, and you can probably still find places that'll
beef them for racing.

postaljeep.net might have all the parts you need to swap, though they
try to steer folks to a complete motor/tf727 swap.
