You can always squirt a touch of silicone spray in them right before a show 
or something...!

Me too! I have one that clunks a bit going over rough roads. The slightest 
pedal pressure shuts it up. It's the caliper loose in the bracket on mine, 
not the shoes. I keep meaning to shim it...
