unless you're a stickler for accuracy, do cloth.  find something at
least similar to the factory cloth or vinyl if you can; that's what i
did - black and white plaid replacing the houndstooth vinyl in my
american.  subtle enough to look stock, and not only cooler in summer
but warmer in winter too.
