Yeah, Those are the sites and information I was talking about............. When I first began studying German Fighter Aircraft of WW2 I thought the Germans invented all that stuff....MW50 methanol/water and GM-1 nitrous injection. I wish I could remember who it was that actually got credit for inventing the process and when it was invented or discovered. Maybe the Schnieder Trophy aircraft races of the late twenties and early thirties??? Any body?? AMC content - I finally received my valve spring compressor today and removed the valves and springs etc. from my 1970 360 heads. Any body got any information on cleaning these heads up for a little better performance but not getting too wild? I'm interested in mild port and combustion chamber work. One question for sure is... shouldn't that area between the valves (in the combustion chamber) be ground so that it doesn't have a point right there? Isn't that point a hot spot for pre-ignition problems? Somewhere though I recall a discussion of handling wasted heat -- since producing heat to increase gas pressure of course is all the burning gasoline is good for! -- but I could have the scale of things off, for starters, or just be plain old wrong (nahh, that never happens :-) Was W.I. used WITH turbo/supercharging then? ===.=== www.warbirdsresourcegroup.org - Luftwaffe Resource Center - Fuels *...* <http://www.warbirdsresourcegroup.org/LRG/fuels.html> MW50 - A 50/50 mixture of methanol and *water* (thus the name) that was sprayed into the supercharger of *German aircraft* engines primarily for its *...* www.warbirdsresourcegroup.org/LRG/fuels.html Snow Performance: Home <http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&ct=res&cd=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.snowperform ance.net%2F&ei=LVKyRuXdAZzsiAHF5sXrAQ&usg=AFQjCNGQc78Ec6bSL29SapRqR4RSQM526w &sig2=-C3Hcd8DL7yZaSSu05_Fag> In 1942, the *German* Luftwaffe increased the horsepower of the Focke-Wulf 190D-9 fighter *aircraft* from 1776HP to 2240HP using 50/50% *water*/methanol *injection* *...* www.snowperformance.net/ *[PDF]* *Water Injection*---Could it Reduce Airplane Maintenance Costs and *...* <http://gltrs.grc.nasa.gov/reports/2007/TM-2007-213652.pdf> File Format: PDF/Adobe Acrobat - View as HTML <http://64.233.167.104/search?q=cache:NZVx737jHW0J:gltrs.grc.nasa.gov/report s/2007/TM-2007-213652.pdf+German+aircraft+water+injection&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=2 &gl=us&client=firefox-a> cosponsored by the *German* National Organizing Committe, DGLR, and MTU AERO Engines *.....* Therefore, *water injection* for commercial *aircraft* is presently *...* gltrs.grc.nasa.gov/reports/2007/TM-2007-213652.pdf WW-II RAF, AAF, GAF *Aircraft* Terms and Meanings used in air combat *...* <http://www.taphilo.com/JG26/WW-II-ETO-Aircraft-Terms-RAF-AAF-GAF.shtml> *Water*-methanol *injection* See MW5O.
