The little Ford 170/200/250 engine WILL fit an early American -- I've seen it! That's the only other I-6 I know of that will. All others that would be good swap choices won't. Something older like a Stude six might fit, but there's nop point in the swap (no more power or reliability).

we've been speculating on whether a little ford six - the 170/200 -
would fit.  if so, how about an aussie 250 with the crossflow head, or
its ohc 4.0 descendant?  lotsa hotrod attention on it 'dahn unda'!
