Frank is correct, John is 100% correct. However Frank is 100% wrong about
the 401.
No Mark Donohue Javelin ever came from Kenosha with a 401 in it. All Mark
Donohue Javelins were built from the 70 model year chassis. The 401 was not
available in 1970 period. Some MD's had a "special" 360 block with a full
web main bearing, for four bolt main caps. This block was also a service
block. Rumor has it that sometimes this "special" 360 would even end up in
Ambassadors. Some MD's came with a 390. I have heard rumors that dealers
even made MD's from SST Javelins with 304s in them. The MD should have the
rear spoiler.
